Acton is an on-the-up West London area, standing under the W3 postcode. It gets its name from the Anglo-Saxon words for ‘oak’ and ‘town’.
The area became famous in the 19th century for its many launderettes and continued to rise to fame throughout the 20th century, due to the automotive factories built in Acton Vale and Park Royal at the time.
