Moving to Fitztrovia

Located between Marylebone and Bloomsbury, the rather small area of Fitzrovia surely knows how to put itself on the map.

Covering part of the W1 postcode, Fitzrovia really is THE place to be.

Housing and Schools

Houses are somewhat of a rare sight in Fitzrovia. The area is filled with 1960s office blocks, art galleries, old-fashioned pubs alongside trendy coffee shops and some stucco-fronted aristocratic housing.

There are some hidden housing gems in the neighbourhood, such as Colville Place, just off Charlotte Street – where you will find four stories, sixties-style homes, with a secret garden located at the end of the road.

Fitzrovia is also home to the University of Westminster and the University of London, making this a great place to be for many students and families.

Out and about in Fitzrovia

This history-filled area is packed with independent art galleries, beautiful Georgian squares, and a very large selection of restaurants and cafes.

The arts and culture environment in Fitzrovia is vibrant and can be rivalled by very few other areas of London. In the 1920s, Fitzrovia was home to the bohemian literary and artistic types, including Virginia Woolf, Vita Sackville-West, and Dylan Thomas.

Pollocks Toy Museum

One of the attractions of the area is the Pollocks Toy Museum, which is exactly what it sounds like: a toy museum! The perfect place for taking an exciting trip down memory lane.

Fitzroy Square

Charles Fitzroy’s eponymous square is the perfect place to enjoy a stroll around on a sunny day or getting to reread your favourite book on a bench.

BT Tower

A very iconic sight to Fitzrovia’s and London’s skyline, the BT Tower was once the tallest building in the UK. Nowadays, it said to be in plans for some exciting actions, so you may get a chance to get up to its rotating restaurant.

Public transport

Situated in Central London, Fitzrovia is well connected to public transport and very easy to navigate on foot. There are three underground stations in the area: Tottenham Court Road, Goodge Street, and Warren Street which between them cover the Central, Northern, and Victoria lines.
